El protagonista principal es Tsurumi Asuta. 17 años, estudiante de 2º de secundaria. Trabajaba como aprendiz de cocinero en Tsurumi-ya, regentado por su padre. Un día se produjo un incendio en Tsurumi-ya, por el bien del preciado cuchillo de su padre ‘Santoku Houchou’, corrió al interior para recuperarlo y así encontró su fin. Antes de darse cuenta, se despertó en un entorno desconocido. Fue atacado por una bestia parecida a un jabalí, pero una chica llamada Ai fa, del pueblo de Morihen, le salvó. Fue entonces cuando se dio cuenta de que realmente estaba en un mundo diferente.
