La historia da comienzo en un mundo donde una gran guerra entre el bien y el mal, entre demonios y héroes que ha terminado con tantas vidas y ha desolado tantas tierras, parece estar a punto de terminar cuando un guerrero arrincona al gran demonio Maou y al único de sus generales que aún no ha sido vencido en Isla Ente. La lucha no promete nada bueno para el rey demonio, que opta por unaretirada estratégica y temporal para replantearse la situación y reconquistar el mundo, de modo que decide abrir un portal a otro mundo que traspasará bajo la promesa de “volver y recuperar lo que es suyo”. El portal le lleva directo a un Japón actual, donde deberá buscarse la vida si pretende algún día cumplir su última promesa, sin embargo, no tardará en decidirse a conquistar también éste nuevo mundo… Si no se lo impide alguien que le ha seguido a través del portal.
