Sakaki Guryū es un genio con múltiples talentos que, a pesar de ser talentoso y rico, decide dar clases en el campo para estar junto a su amante, Usagawa Rinne, quien también es su estudiante. Sus vidas pacíficas se hacen añicos un día cuando Rinne es asesinado, frente a los ojos de Sakaki, por una chica llamada “Gankyū Eguriko”, quien le sacó los ojos con una cuchara. Las cosas toman un giro aún más extraño cuando Rinne se despierta de repente como si nada hubiera sucedido, y algo llamado “Manzana del Edén” aparece en la mezcla.
