Leo Zeal aspira a convertirse en aventurero y llega a Innsbruck, una ciudad construida alrededor del gran laberinto donde habita el Rey Demonio. Tras perder el conocimiento tras quedar atrapado en el derrumbe de la estatua del Rey Demonio, Leo recuerda que es la reencarnación de Hirase Yoshito, un japonés que falleció en un accidente inesperado.
Decidido a triunfar como aventurero para no repetir la miseria de su pasado, Leo pasa el día activo y se va a dormir con la esperanza de que llegue el día siguiente. Sin embargo, al despertar, ha sido transportado al momento en que la estatua del Rey Demonio se derrumba de nuevo. Todos los eventos que ocurren a partir de entonces son iguales a lo que experimentó ayer, y Leo se da cuenta de que el día está en un bucle…
